The short version: install the Slack app, paste an App Store or Google Play link, pick a channel. Every new review lands in Slack within a few minutes. The longer version is below.
Install Reviewcast
Sign in at reviewcast.co with Google, then click Connect Slackfrom the dashboard. Slack will ask you to approve the install on the workspace you choose — you need permission to install apps in that workspace, which usually means being an admin or having admin approval enabled.
The OAuth flow grants Reviewcast a bot token scoped to: posting messages to channels you invite it to, listing your channels, joining channels on request, and reading user emails (used only to match Slack DMs to the right teammate when you set up per-user filters).
Add an app
From the dashboard, open Sources and click Add app. You have two ways to find the app:
- Search by name — type the app name and pick the right result from the list.
- Paste a store URL — e.g.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/your-app/id123456789orhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.example.app
Either way, Reviewcast validates that the app exists, auto-detects the store, and lets you pick which Slack channel reviews should land in. You can repeat for as many apps as your plan allows.
Faster path: from any Slack channel, type /reviewcast add <url>— the channel you ran the command in becomes the default delivery channel.
Slash commands
From any channel where Reviewcast is installed:
/reviewcast— list the apps tracked in this workspace./reviewcast add <url>— add an app from a store URL./reviewcast help— in-Slack reminder of available commands.
Per-user DM filters
Need a teammate to get pinged for specific reviews (low-star, keyword match, particular app)? Each user can configure their own DM filter rules from the Personal DMspage in the dashboard. Rules don’t affect the workspace channel feed — they layer on top. Rules combine star rating, keyword match, app, and country.
Translation
Reviews in non-English languages are auto-translated when translation is enabled. Translations appear inline on the Slack card and on the Reviews dashboard with a clear “translated from X” tag.
Roles & team
Three roles: owner (full control + billing), admin (manage apps, channels, members), member (view + use). Invite teammates from the Team page in the dashboard. Seats are limited per plan; upgrade if you hit the cap.
Troubleshooting
- No reviews showing up. Reviews can take up to 15 minutes to appear after you add an app, especially for low-traffic apps. Check the Sources page — the “last fetched” timestamp tells you if polling is working.
- Bot can’t post in a channel. Invite Reviewcast to that channel (
/invite @Reviewcast). For private channels, you may need to also re-pick the channel in the dashboard. - Wrong store detected. The URL parser is forgiving but not perfect — if it picks the wrong store, just paste the URL from the other store.
- Stuck on something else? Email hello@reviewcast.co and we’ll help you sort it out.
Pricing & plans
All plans start with a 14-day free trial — no credit card. After that, pick the plan that matches your team size and app count on the pricing page. Cancel any time, one click, no email required.
